Hey there! It’s time to dive into the fantastic updates I’ve rolled out for Slideshower since my last blog post. I’ve been working tirelessly to bring you new features, improvements, and fixes that make your photo viewing experience even more delightful. Let’s take a stroll through the changes that have transformed Slideshower from version 1.8 to 1.16.
Smooth Sailing with Apple Verification and Auto-Updates
Starting with version 1.8, I proudly announced that Slideshower became Apple-verified, making installation a breeze for all you Mac users out there. I also introduced auto-update functionality, ensuring you’re always running the latest and greatest version of Slideshower without any hassle.
Flexibility in Viewing
Version 1.9 brought some nifty improvements to how you interact with Slideshower. Now you can exit full-screen mode and run your slideshow in a window – perfect for multitasking or when you want to keep an eye on other apps. I also added a little magic touch: the mouse cursor now disappears after 1 second of inactivity, giving you an unobstructed view of the presented photos.
Animated GIFs and Speed Boost
With version 1.10, I embraced the fun world of animated GIFs! Now you can include these lively images in your slideshows. But that’s not all – I also implemented a major loading speed improvement, so you can get to your photos faster than ever. I also fixed those pesky dark mode issues.
Grid View and Sorting Options
Versions 1.11 and 1.12 were all about giving you more control over how you view and organize your photos. I introduced a 3x3 grid view, perfect for when you want to see multiple images at once. I also added sorting options, allowing you to arrange your files by name or creation date before starting your slideshow.
Shuffle Mode and UI Improvements
In versions 1.13 and 1.14, I focused on enhancing your experience with an improved shuffle mode and some UI tweaks. For those searching for a “random slideshow Mac” solution or how to “shuffle photos slideshow Mac,” Slideshower now offers an even better randomization feature. I also fixed a bug in the delay input box and increased the maximum delay to a whopping 9999 seconds – that’s over 2.7 hours between photos if you really want to take your time!
Drag & Drop and Subdirectory Support
Version 1.15 brought a feature many of you have been asking for – drag & drop functionality! Now you can simply drag your files or folders into Slideshower, and it’ll automatically add all the images, including those in subdirectories. This is perfect for those looking to “turn folder of photos into slideshow” or create a “Mac slideshow from folder” ;)
2x2 Grid and Mac OS Compatibility
And finally, with my latest version 1.16, I’ve added a 2x2 grid view option, giving you even more flexibility in how you display your photos. I’ve also included additional sorting options to help you organize your images just the way you like. Plus, great news for those of you with older Macs – I’ve downgraded the minimum required macOS version to 12.0, making Slideshower accessible to even more users.
Wrapping Up
From Apple verification to grid views, from GIF support to drag & drop functionality, I’ve packed a lot of features and improvements into Slideshower over these versions. Whether you’re looking for the “best photo slideshow app for Mac” or a simple “Mac photo slideshow” solution, Slideshower aims to meet all your needs. I’m constantly working to make Slideshower the best it can be, and I couldn’t do it without your feedback and support.
If you haven’t updated Slideshower recently, now’s the perfect time to do so and experience all these fantastic new features.
