Slideshower's latest features: version 1.17 to 1.19

Hey there, Slideshower users! πŸ‘‹ Time for a short update. Let’s take a quick tour of what’s new in versions 1.17 through 1.19.

Slideshower app - version 1.19

Version 1.17: Remember, Remember! (June 24, 2024)

First up, I’ve added a feature I think you’ll love. Slideshower now saves and restores your app settings automatically. No more re-configuring every time you launch.

I’ve also thrown in a neat file info display for during slideshows. You can now see details about each image as it appears. Just press “i” on your keyboard.

Version 1.18: The Devil’s in the Details (July 23, 2024)

In 1.18, I focused on giving you more information. I’ve expanded the info overlay box (from version 1.17) with additional EXIF data.

I also smoothed out the loop mode. Your endless slideshows should now flow even better. Oh, and I improved the toast messages about added files. It’s a small touch, but I think it makes things feel more polished.

Version 1.19: Performance Improvemnets (August 2, 2024)

Now, 1.19 is where things get really exciting. I’ve made major improvements to the app’s performance. It now uses less RAM and runs faster overall.

But that’s not all. I’ve also added the Ken Burns effect. Now your static images can pan and zoom during slideshows.

Wrapping Up

Most of these changes (if not all of them) were developed because of you. Some of you shared their feedback with me, requested a new feature (e.g. Ken Burns effect) or just let me know that the app memory management could be better. Thank you for that!

I do hope you enjoy these new updates. As always, I’m eager to hear your thoughts - just drop me a line at hello@slideshower.com. Your feedback helps shape Slideshower’s future!

Happy slideshowing, everyone! πŸ“Έβœ¨

Best, Pawel
