Exciting news for all Slideshower fans! I’ve been busy over the past few months, rolling out a series of updates that improve how you shuffle photos in slideshows on your Mac. From version 2.2 to the latest 2.7 release, I’ve added features based on your feedback to make Slideshower more useful and enjoyable.
What’s new in Slideshower 2.7?
My latest update introduces selective file management—you can now select specific photos and remove only those from your slideshow. I’ve also fixed the “float on top” issue that some users reported and made several minor UI improvements to enhance your experience.

How to shuffle photos in your mac slideshow
One of the most searched features is how to shuffle photos in Slideshower. Here’s a quick guide:
- Open Slideshower and add your photos by dragging and dropping or using the “Select files or folders” button
- Check the “Shuffle mode” option in settings
- Click “Start” to begin your random slideshow with perfectly shuffled photos
The shuffle feature works seamlessly with all of Slideshower’s presentation modes, including the single photo view, 2x2 grid, and 3x3 grid display options.
Live Mode: useful addition for event slideshows
Introduced in version 2.1, Live Mode continues to be one of the most appreciated features. It allows you to:
- Monitor a folder for new photos in real-time
- Automatically include newly added images in your running slideshow
- Create interactive photo experiences at weddings, parties, and corporate events
Perfect for situations where you want to randomize photos in a folder on your Mac and display them as they’re added.
Video Export: share your slideshows
Remember that with Slideshower, you can export your slideshows as video files. Whether you need to share your mac photos slideshow or preserve it for later viewing, the export feature (introduced in version 2.0) makes it simple.
