Live Mode automatically monitors a single folder on your Mac, instantly adding new photos to your running slideshow and removing deleted ones—all without interruption. Perfect for live events where photos are continuously updated while your presentation is running.

Quick Setup Guide
Step 1: Select Your Photo Folder
- Open Slideshower on your Mac
- Click “Select files or folders”
- Choose ONE folder containing your photos (not multiple folders or individual files)
- Toggle “Live Mode” (now enabled after folder selection)
Step 2: Configure & Start
- Set slideshow timing and transitions
- Hit Start to begin real-time monitoring
- New photos appear automatically within seconds
- Deleted photos are removed instantly
Important Requirements
Live Mode has specific requirements to ensure optimal performance:
- Single Folder Only: Live Mode requires selecting exactly one folder (multiple selections disable this feature)
- Single Photo View: Automatically switches to single photo display (grid modes like 2x2, 3x3 unavailable)
- Real-Time Sync: Both additions and deletions in the watched folder update the slideshow immediately
Pro Tips for Success
Event Photography: Use AirDrop for guests to instantly share photos to your watch folder during weddings or parties.
Business Displays: Set 8-10 second intervals for retail environments where customers need time to view each image.
Folder Management: Keep only slideshow-ready photos in the monitored directory to prevent unwanted images from appearing. Remember that deleting photos from the folder will also remove them from the slideshow.
Folder Organization: Create a dedicated “Live Slideshow” folder to avoid accidentally including unrelated images.
Advanced Features
Combine Live Mode with Ken Burns effects, fade transitions, and multi-monitor support for professional-grade dynamic presentations. Note that grid layouts are not available in Live Mode.
